Baseball
ALBANY — Jake Likewise gave Crescent Valley a strong start before hitting his pitch limit, but the Raiders’ bullpen couldn’t hold South Albany at bay in a 4-3 Mid-Willamette Conference loss.
The field at South Albany was dry when the game began, but conditions deteriorated in the later innings.
“It was a pretty even game today, except for our relief pitching,” CV coach Dave Mintkin said.
Both Nate Pozzesi and Josh Liebeskind delivered doubles for the Raiders (8-9, 6-7), while Liebeskind and Likewise both had two hits.
The teams are slated to play today and Friday at CV.
