The Corvallis High softball team took advantage on the basepaths and pulled away for a 10-2 Mid-Willamette Conference victory over Lebanon on Tuesday.
Cassie Lasswell did a solid job of mixing up her pitches and limited Lebanon to five hits. She struck out two and let the defense make plays.
The Spartans (2-2) broke the game open with seven runs in the sixth inning as Lebanon had a hard time catching the ball.
Corvallis is at Lebanon today.

ALBANY - Despite a leadoff homer by Aryn Grause, the Raiders were unable to sustain the early momentum and dropped the MWC game to West Albany.
After CV scored three runs in the sixth to take an 8-4 lead, the Bulldogs answered with four runs in the bottom of the frame to tie it.
Grause, who relieved starter Kacie Melton, suffered the loss for the Raiders. She, however, along with Lauren DeCarolis and Sammi Waite led CV with two hits apiece. Darcy Fields and Jessica Valdez drove in two runs each.
Crescent Valley hosts West Albany today at 4:30.

PHILOMATH - Maggie Stymer tossed a two-hitter and the Warriors came alive at the plate to pick up the Val-Co League win at home.
Cassy Shenk had four hits. Kayleene Hannaway three and Deanna Page three hits and four RBIs. Three came on a bases-loaded trip in the second.
Philomath (2-2, 1-0) closed the game with an eight-run fourth inning to earn the victory in a game shortened by the run-rule.
Philomath is back in action at 3:30 p.m. today against Yamhill-Carlton.

STAYTON - Santiam Christian couldn’t have asked for a better start to PacWest Conference play.
SC (4-3, 1-0) defeated Regis for the first time in school history on the Rams’ homefield.
“It’s a great way to start (conference),” SC coach Bill Ford said. “We played pretty well. We took advantage of some of their errors and hit the ball pretty well too.”
Regis committed five errors, while the Eagles were flawless in the field.
Kalyssa Koontz pitched seven solid innings to pick up her fourth win, and was backed up at the plate by Quincey Davis who had three hits and drove in two runs for the Eagles. Becca Anni and Corrie Bellamy added two hits each for SC.
